Disappointments in life

When situations arose
Dance around the ring
Till we strike a pose

In the end are we just ashes
That leave a mound
If we spin too fast
Then we all fall down

There are times
Certain hours are struck
The gavel hits the hickory
As you’re in the dock

We all smile
When we’re hearing a tune
Stroking on our fiddle
As we jump the moon

Though we laugh like little dogs
It’s much too soon
We can fill our plates
But we have no spoon

You may have to pay a price
To clear up all your crimes
Not just sitting in a circle
Reading nursery rhymes

It’s hard to see
When we run we are blind
Eat up all the cheese
Throw away the rind

When we see
How the hands run up the clock
Then we scurry round
In a state of shock
