One Day Soon

about

This is a song about Covid-19. After a Zoom call with a friend, feeling how precious that time was, I remembered how easy it was to just blow people off before Covid. If there was a conflict or somthing else came up, you could call your friend and say, "Hey, we'll do it later." Not now. Also, I thought of being at a festival. Recall how you would scan peoples faces in the big crowd, searching for someone you knew. Not now

lyrics

Remembering
Before all of this
When life seemed
Kind of normal

We were close
Soaking it all in
Sometimes we would
Take for granted
That we were so cordial

Remembering
Before all of this
When I’d dream
Of peaceful silence

We would plan
Future rendezvous
Not caring that
They might get canceled
By circumstance or conflicts

Look for familiar face in crowds
But now such things are not allowed
In certain context
We all want contact
We’d like to get back to yesterday

We’ll get back there
One day soon
